Wishing my highly intelligent and socially responsible Substack subscribers an Extremely Merry Christmas. I hereby send you all the cheer that is possible to transmit by way of this internet communication.
Not the most festive “content,” admittedly, but I did do a Callin episode this afternoon (with Chris Arnade) about the COVID “Permanent Emergency” and whether it should be regarded as troublesome. Maybe you should only listen if your disposition toward Christmas is slightly more Scrooge-like.
Also, if you’re a non-paying subscriber and you’ve enjoyed any of my “content” over the past months, I hope you’ll consider getting a paid subscription, because a greater percentage of the stuff on here will be at least partially paywalled in the New Year. You can even get a subscription as a last minute gift for someone you don’t like that much.
Good tidings to all!
Merry Christmas to you. Thank you for your work!
Merry Christmas, Mike. The money I shell out paying you is well spent. BION, I pay more to read your stuff than I do to the NY Times! LOLOL
I'm really looking forward to your new stuff.
I don't know your connections or your background, TBH; having said that, I hope you do some explorations that are away from the tireless culture war stuff and examine other venues of the corruption and crookedness that's all around us.
- are the signs of union resurgence genuine or more a reflection of hope?
- How prevalent is wage theft in the highway construction industry?
- What are the best ways to annoy MSM spokes people? In this one, I mean...find the lead story that's hot in MSM right now and prove irrefutably how wrong the take is. Something like Taibbi et al re Russiagate. Taibbi's current dismantling of the Louden County Va educational fracas and how it resulted in a Republican win is an example of what I'm trying to get at. Maybe some serious digging into Faucci's shennanigans...is there provable corruption there?
Look, I'm not Mike Tracey. You do what you want; it'll be great. I'm just wondering where you'll go next. You work on that college in CT was awesome, and I hope to see more stuff like that. Boots on the ground reporting. Actual correspondent work, y'know?
At any rate, the best to you and all you hold dear this Christmas.
And to everyone here on Mike's Substack, my best wishes to you and all you hold close to your hearts.
Merry Christmas. God bless us, every one!
