It finally struck me how old all this is when I realized it started in 1994, 7 years before 911. It was a different era and these trafficking laws didn't exist, at least not in their current insane form. As I understand it, if say, an accountant had a client who routinely asked the accountant to wire money to a casino in Vegas for a gambling weekend and the client came back saying he had met an adult woman whom he had hooked up with and liked and told her he would try to introduce her to influential contacts to advance her career, the accountant would not think another thing about it. Then 30 years later, the woman comes forward saying the client never did introduce her to anyone worthwhile and therefore she was adult sex-trafficked because she was induced by a thing of value. The client is long dead. And now the accountant is being investigated for a sex trafficking felony for participating in the "scheme" by handling the wires to and from Vegas?
