The same people freaking out over Iran enriching uranium are completely silent about Israel’s stockpile of nuclear weapons. If that’s not hypocrisy, what is?
Conflating a murderous terror organization responsible for thousands of deaths and misery in the Middle East as the largest state sponsor of terrorism pretending to be a government and a democracy! Now that’s a stretch.
In a way, Trump getting the Nobel Peace Prize sounds perfect to me since I associate it wholly with warmakers like Obama and Kissinger. It's hilarious so many are suggesting he get it for "peace" when that's not the type of person it's for!
It's fair for DJT to take a short-term win on this situation. What matters is whether the long-term prospects in the Middle East will be more peaceful or less peaceful than previously, as a result of these actions. Nobody knows the answer.
We have finally destroyed Iran's nuclear program that has been weeks away from building a bomb for thirty years [sarcasm alert]! I am neither confident that the program has actually been destroyed or that the "ceasefire" will last any significant amount of time.
"I just know that I have little interest in hearing someone spout on video about some topic, if they don’t have the capacity or interest to discipline themselves to write about it at any length. Maybe that’s elitist or whatever, but it’s my sincere intuition."
Not to go all Karen on you, but why do I have to be "re-authenticated" after following a link here from my email?
Anyway, awesome news that you will be covering this summit! I love your writing and your interviews. I especially love your interviews because you ask questions that nobody else does.
Tens of thousands of centrifuges enriching uranium to 60%(when peaceful use for energy requires 3%), buried hundreds of feet below ground in multiple different sites. Storing thousands of rockets and making more constantly. These are objective truths about a belligerent, hostile, threatening (“death to the little satan and the big satan”) Iran that worried everyone in the Middle East. I for one am relieved that the ability for this autocratic theocracy to make a nuclear weapon has been degraded for the foreseeable future.
The same set of facts can be utilized to come to a far different conclusion. Iran has seen regime change operations run in the last few decades against Libya, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Yemen. Benefits of these ops accrue to Israel and it's Greater Israel Project. And ultimately to the US-centered Western Empire, which is Israel's boss. For example, regime changing Iraq on false pretenses, followed by the overthrow of Assad by terrorists supported by the West opened a huge swath of safe airspace for Israel to launch its attempted "decapitation" attack. Now if you are in Iranian leadership and you see this happening (almost all of which was a strategy cooked up by US Neocons in "A Clean Break"), do you roll over, give up your sovereignty and become another Satrap of the Empire? Or do you use what you have to the greatest effect? You enrich Uranium to close to weapons grade so that you have plausible strategic deterrence. Nobody has said they have the bomb, only that they could have it "soon". I've heard this at least since the 1990s. That ambiguity worked for Iran almost as well North Korea actually building and testing nukes. You don't see anybody attacking North Korea, tho I'm sure there is a mad plan to do so on the shelf. In attempting to destroy Iran's deterrence, the empire might have just given Iran the push to convince them to actually build the nuke(s).
I guess Israel didn’t need the “safe air space” to take out the Syrian heavy water reactor? Your supposition is that the Iranians spent hundreds of billions building these massive enrichment facilities buried deep underground requiring years to build for “plausible strategic deterrence”?? I’m afraid devious minds like the mullahs aren’t as nuanced as you. This is your theory not supported by any evidence regarding Iran’s intent.
The facts are irrefutable, add Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis many thousands of dead Americans. Your defending a murderous, group of religious zealots that brutalize their own citizens. Is it that you hate Israel, the US or just like defending the indefensible?
There is already an autocratic theocracy with nuclear weapons, it's called Israel and it's a Jewish state that forbids the participation of any secular party that opposes it being a religiously Jewish state. It has countless arcane laws based on bizarre Jewish orthodoxies and the Talmud.
On the other hand, Iran at least has other religions and ethnicities represented in its Parliament by law, such as Iranian Jews; something outright forbidden by Israel's constitution.
Why worry about the theocracy that doesn't have nuclear weapons when there is one that already does, and is even headed by a war criminal starting one conflict after another just to stay in power?
Your a virulent antisemite Emma. Your ideology makes you incompetent when it comes to discussing Israel. The statements you’re making comparing an autocratic theocracy who have suppressed any dissent and jailed and/or murdered dissidents who are outspoken against the government, versus democracy. There is a great hatred of the mullahs and the government in Iran. I don’t see the people in Israel including a substantial Arab population wanting to foment a revolution. So you stick with Iran and the mullahs, good luck, you should visit Iran and see how a woman is treated there. You might enjoy it.

That's a rather long-winded description of Israel you gave.
In a way, Trump getting the Nobel Peace Prize sounds perfect to me since I associate it wholly with warmakers like Obama and Kissinger. It's hilarious so many are suggesting he get it for "peace" when that's not the type of person it's for!
I don't watch a lot of videos or podcasts. I'm here on Substack to read.

The answer to whether or not American interventionism makes the Middle East more peaceful is always no.
We have finally destroyed Iran's nuclear program that has been weeks away from building a bomb for thirty years [sarcasm alert]! I am neither confident that the program has actually been destroyed or that the "ceasefire" will last any significant amount of time.
Totally agree with this:

I’m absolutely astounded that people fall for this shit after the WMD hoax in Iraq…
Conflating WMD fiasco with what Iran has been documented to have done enriching uranium seems to be your problem.
You haven’t explained any of what I’ve said. Calling it a “hoax” is an absurd opinion. The facts are the facts.

"Your defending a murderous, group of religious zealots that brutalize their own citizens."
Are you sure you aren't talking about Zionists?
