As I understand it, one of the seven in particular just walked into the room, saw no one copulating or anything amiss, and walked out again. I hope he in particular will be suing the pants off of everyone who has publicly branded him a rapist.

That a bunch of college kids get mob hysteria can perhaps be forgiven in the cold light of day, but this crowd of clowns are supposed to be the adults in the room. Truly insane.

Behold, an endless parade of fools.

Sigh, it gets quite lonely caring about evidence and suchlike. I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who cares about what this woman actually said.

For anyone interested, I've collected her post-incident messages with the first two men, in plaintext, for easy search and copy:

Friend’s daughter works at a high-tech Silicon Valley company. She is smart and pretty but almost 40. No marriage prospects on board. An ELF/AWFL. Her biggest accomplishment to date was getting a male co-worker fired for saying she was pretty.

Sexual harassment is in the eye of the beholder. If George Clooney flirts it is a compliment. If Joe shmo does it- adios.

These moral panics are tiresome. More evidence that “Higher education” is irredeemably broken.

Prof. Tamarkin’s irrational hysteria is symbolic of the demise in standards

Many here hate me for criticizing Michael on Epstein, but in this case I agree with him - as I do on many other matters. Jane Doe, who told her sorority big sister that rumors of her being a slut (her word, not mine) were true, went to a fraternity party to experienced what actually happened - voluntary drunkenness with voluntarily ketamine, an all night sexual orgy with multiple partners, a text later saying she had a good time. Toxic femininity is just as real as toxic masculity. Radical feminists encourage it. Even Glamour magazine encourages it. Her lawsuit could make her and her lawyer quite wealthy.

I think that what some people like these folks are calling rape is intimacy and boundary-breaking with supposed friends that turns into a humiliating spectacle. The text describing “free x” and the gawking, grabby frat brothers must have made her feel like a fool. Then her sorority sisters completed the rape of her confidence by whispering about her. I don’t know if she was raped, but I do think she got wrecked by both the guys and the girls.

These people should all be sued into oblivion by the 7 boys.

A professorship is no license to manufacture a rape finding, particularly related to Jane Doe accuser Lucy Craig.

In the exchange Tracey reproduces, Michael Kotlikoff had to correct Noah Tamarkin’s public characterization of the disciplinary record. That is an academic disgrace, and Tamarkin owes an unmistakable correction. These professors demand accountability from administrators while wielding accusations capable of wrecking students’ lives. Their own words deserve the same scrutiny. Fear does not authenticate an allegation, applause cannot establish guilt, and an advanced degree supplies no exemption from checking the facts. Cornell should expect its faculty to model intellectual discipline. When professors amplify accusations beyond the findings they cite, they become participants in the reputational damage they should know better than to inflict.
