After I was swarmed by an Angry Mob earlier this week at a “Justice for Jane Doe” rally in Ithaca, NY, the scant local media on hand did its thing: produce quick hit news-style reports that characterized the events with maximum uncharitability toward me, and maximum ideological deference and/or credulity toward the “organizers.” This is nothing new, of course — I wouldn’t have even paid it much mind here, except that the
Tracey is on fool's errand trying to get local media numbskulls like those at the "Ithaca Voice" to be objective. I mean, look at it from their point of view - they're making $30,000 a year or something, writing for some birdcage liner that about 12 people actually read. The only way that they can get out of bed in the morning is by persuading themselves that they are on some righteous moral mission of cosmic importance, and they can't get there by reporting tawdry situations honestly.
The most effective thing Tracey can do alone is seek out the biggest megaphone he can. He was able to accomplish a lot with the infamous tweet on Cornell Doe's identity. He was less successful with the Epstein case. The louder the public controversy, the bigger the platform you need to present an opposing view. At the end of the day the people actually in power are easily swayed by media and social justice activism. But legitimizing opposition to the official narrative is the first step to reducing its influence.
Why do you think the birthrate and dating statistics are so low right now? Its just the cost of living. It is or would be the cost of living with an ungrateful and unaccountable person.
I don't understand this gaslighting about the male loneliness epidemic. I'm very happy to live alone and uncoupled, especially after so many relationships ending as the result of female hypergamy. Solitude is far better than non productive investments in romantic relationships.
I think it goes further. The American Psychological Association is 69% female. They keep claiming that loneliness is as bad as smoking 15 cigarettes. I believe that is true for women, but not men. I feel sorry for the married men I encounter. They seem dead inside.
It’s very creepy these reporters are pretending the accuser is still anonymous. Reminds me of the first trump impeachment when we were not allowed the know the identity of the “whistleblower” (a CIA agent installed in the white house)
The hysteria that has been created by these allegations and the willingness of people to suspend their critical thinking and their civility astounds me. What world am I living in. Remind me never to visit Ithaca! Kathryn from Brooklyn
Why do you seem to be targeted so frequently? Perhaps you are an intentional or unintentional button pusher, which does not seem like a bad quality for a journalist.
Whatever the real justification may be, they are treating you like a Tate Brothers, before the UK alleged a ton of evidence free violence.
I will tell you what I told Andrew and Tristan about five years ago: pick your battles. Totalitarian hypocrisy, double standards, and petty targeting are common: bombastic peacocking of narrative power. The best retort is always to reveal the truth. Godspeed.
Would love to see Michael interview Jane Doe and ask her why she thought participating in group sex at a fraternity was a good idea. How was Jane ideologically captured to expose herself to that level of risk? Is it the new right of passage for young women to assume the worst traits of men?
It is said that she is a follower of the Call Her Daddy podcast where extremely casual attitudes towards sex are expressed. People have been kinda brushing by the drugs part though. It's not a good idea to do ketamine or get wasted on alcohol period. It leads nowhere good. Always high risk.
It is a little reported fact that based on Kevin Reddington's criminal defense, his fellow ambulance chasing attorneys have filed a massive civil case on Lyndsey Clancy's behalf against multiple doctors and hospitals. Does he have to get her aquitted for the big payout? What do all of these things - Epstein survivors, Clancy, and Jane Doe have in common?
No rest for the weary, the front page of today’s NY Times has an article on the (as headlined) “frenzied hunt by online trolls to identify Cornell’s Jane Doe,” which amply acknowledges Michael’s role in the drama.
For the scoreboard, they do refer to him as “an independent journalist” rather than an on-line commentator or whatever, and did interview him and print some of his responses. On the other hand, he’s still implicitly one of the trolls.

The flak is thickest over the target…
I wonder when feminist hatred and double standards will overcome the most basic of all human instincts, the male sex drive.

Typo in my original comment, it should be, "it's not just the cost of living."
I'm in a similar boat. Much happier to be alone than with someone who makes me feel alone.
The gaslighting is from the perpetually online women who cannot admit that the dating stats are a rejection of them and their ideas.

The one thing the Ithaca Voice managing editor is right on about here is that their local waterfall is in fact very nice.
"Jimmy" 🤦♀️ Jeff Conaway wants his hair back.
You are nothing if not persistent, Mr. Tracey.👍🧡

Tracey seems genuinely befuddled when ideologues attack him both verbally and physically.
“…even though I had literally done nothing that could have even arguably caused anyone the slightest bit of “discomfort.”
Also, it seems important to him that no one should mistake him for a dreaded Republican.
“just in case anyone might have gotten the wrong idea — I have never considered myself politically right-wing in any way.”
It seems obvious that his anti-fan club shoos him away and shouts in his face because he is exposing their narratives to facts and reason and logic.
It’s the worst thing anyone can possibly do to these people.
Think vampires when the sun rises.

Spot on! Thank you. Maybe Michael could do the interview.

Good for you. I am glad you stand up for yourself and the right to express your opinion.

As an editor of a newspaper I too would reject a Letter to the Editor which is 5 times the length of the article it seeks to correct.
Fair point. I didn't see the reason the editor rejected it though.
You help with the fight against the kippelization of the internet and for that we salute you!
