I always read Michael to get a cold dose of reality. Almost makes me cry, but at least the disappointment don't hurt so much.

My view of the Trump 2.0 administration from my perch in Mexico City is that it's Biden 2.0 with some red meat for the MAGA diehards.

I think that red meat is all Matrix steaks, probably grown out of immortalised cancer cell culture. I wonder how long it'll be til they realise the meat's not real, but how many will keep eating it anyway and insist it's a perfectly good steak?

At least more seem to be starting to realise it; one can hope Trump Devotion Syndrome might be more easily overcome than the other TDS. It is sad the way many respond to mistaken judgment and falling for deception is with denial, as the shame ought always fall on the deceiver and not the one who overcomes it.

Democrats would never cut Medicaid and Medicare and SNAP. There is a big difference. Republicunts are cowardly bullies. Giving tax cuts to the fat paedo-raping Island Crapitalist Overlord billionaires on the backs of the suffering disabled, the elderly dying the hungry starving where there is no work or low wages that don't pay for life are allowed

Except that our southern border is now pretty much secure -- no thanks to the Mexican government, of course, which allowed millions of people to traipse through its territory for years, on their way to the USA.

I'd hoped against hope that Trump would be a major improvement over Biden.

Substantively, though, that is not shaping up to be the case.

The fighting in Ukraine continues, Israel has Trump's full backing for its war on Arabs and Trump is moving forces into position for a possible attack on Iran.

DOGE is a bust. Trump is throwing more money down the PO pentagon rathole, not less, and the administration is criminalizing criticism of Israel.

Expand full comment
Emma M.'s avatar

At least war with Iran should be an easy win for them and likely total defeat for the US as in Yemen, and the only way the US looks it will be brought to heel and back to reality is through continued defeat; in Ukraine as well, and wherever else.

I just hope the Americans will not be stupid enough to try starting WWIII and/or a nuclear war in the process of waging yet more wars to inevitably lose. If the insane spending continues the way they are continuing it, hopefully they will face bankruptcy before that can happen; the star-spangled banner may have to be replaced with a more appropriate white flag due to future financial restraints.

Maybe I'm wrong to see Trump as a continuation of Biden.

Maybe the US is undergoing a break in continuity like Russia did when communism ended.

BookWench's avatar

The only reason DOGE is a bust, is because of our feckless weenies in congress.

Yes, it would have been great if Trump had insisted on including the DOGE recommendations in his Big Stupid Ugly Bill, but he didn't.

Trump is undeniably flawed -- but he is at least attempting to bring peace between Ukraine & Russia. I wish I could say the same for the ME, but Israel owns Trump -- along with most of our Congress Critters.

On the plus side, gas prices are coming down, along with egg prices.

The sad fact is, Trump can only do so much without the cooperation of GOP Congress Critters, who can only be relied on to maintain the status quo.

I want more d vial programs not less. Billionaires' should not exist. The basics of life should be nationalized. Our country should be run for we the people. A wealth cap if $500,000,000 is reasonable.

No to selling 😔 FF our National Parks. No to cutting programs. Everything else is a distraction.

Migrant farmers not able to function will create higher prices.

The immigration issue is a distraction from him stealing. Trump is stealing from our nation.

I have no idea what "d vial programs" are, and your tyrannical suggestion that billionaires "should not exist" is infantile.

"No to cutting programs." So. . . no programs should ever be cut? They should all enjoy increased funding forever and ever, amen? How absurd.

How, exactly, is Trump "stealing from our nation"? Please be specific.

This is America, which is supposed to be a constitutional republic. There is nothing in our Constitution about "nationalizing" the "basics of life."

If you don't like our form of government, then I suggest you pick a better country, and hasten to it.

Many good points made. Obviously, hard to cover everything in a short speech but what you could have added was his flagrant violation of laws passed by Congress and willfully ignoring Court Orders.

Also, reports that DOGE has scraped personal data that has been siloed by congress for good reason into a centralized database which obviously could be used for nefarious purposes.

And I should also mention his dismissed more than a dozen members of independent oversight bodies during his first two months in office, defying typical procedures and federal laws that say presidents cannot remove certain officials without good cause and abruptly fired 18 inspectors general without cause or proper notice, they audit agencies to detect misconduct, waste, fraud, theft, or certain types of criminal activity.

He also curtailed enforcement of a foreign agent registration law, suspended Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Enforcement, Dismissed the director of the Office of Government Ethics, overseeing executive branch ethics, ordered the firing of the special counsel at the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, protecting federal whistleblowers.

dissolved an FBI task forcedesigned to counter foreign election influence. halted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, protecting consumers from financial abuse.

There is just so much going wrong now its hard to keep track of it all. One thing I am certain of is that Trump and his insiders are getting much richer

It has been abundantly obvious for at least eight years, that Trump is weak and stupid. Because he also has no principles other than personal vanity, this makes him eminently easy to manipulate.

That said, Trump support is first and foremost, a cult of personality. The man could start every speech with "All Praise To Lord Satan!" and his cult would either make excuses or take up devil worship...

That also goes for his enemies. Trump could cure cancer using this one weird old trick and the NYT would bitch about how he put doctors out of work.

Anyway, Trump will end up being Biden 2.0, a stupider and more dysfunctional version of Dubya's second term, although there will be more fumbles and reversals to get there.

You are very far off from the truth. Here is who really runs the nation

At the end of “Behold a Pale Horse,” by William Cooper, was enclosed a list of members of the Council of Foreign Relations, as released by F.RE.E.. As I have before mentioned, the CFR was founded by David Rockefeller Jr., who also appointed its members. There are approximately three hundred listed members, well over a hundred of them representing the media.

CBS, NBC, ABC, Cable News Network, PBS, Associated Press, Reuters, Boston Globe, Baltimore Sun, Washington Times, NY Times, Time Inc., Newsweek, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, National Review, and others had leadership in membership of the CFR.

The Council of Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission are instruments of the illuminati formed to obliterate national boundaries and to establish a new world order. They are doing this by consolidating commercial and banking interests by capturing control of the political government of the United States, and through US covert actions, the political government of all nations.

“Some even believe that we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as “internationalists” and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure- one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.”-

David Rockefeller, from his book “Memoirs”

The list of members, compiled in 1989, included top brass from all sections of military, several banks, leaders of all the most influential universities, (Barnard, Columbia, Cornell, Notre Dame, Stanford, Yale, John Hopkins, Wellesley, Princeton, Brown, a dozen others); government officials, house and senate members; energy (Shell, Texaco, Exxon, Mobil); international broadcasting,; Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors; General Electric, AT&T, the Federal Reserve, and the Smithsonian Institute. These were the most powerful people in the United States at the time.

Together, they have been conspiring how to achieve their goals, and directing the actions that create world events. They compose federal legislation, bribe politicians, arrange coups and invasions, and are the ones who decide which people will be leaders.

Remember that the owners of media on these committees control editing policies and content of the entire media. David Rockefeller himself said this addressing the Trilateral Commission on June of 1991 (according to page 46 of Jim Keith’s “Mass Control: Engineering Human Consciousness”): “

We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine, and other great publications whose directors have attended meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march toward world government. The supra-natural sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determinism practiced in past centuries.”

How smart you are to follow politics. My first book EXPOSING THE MONEY MACHINE debunked the whole thing, starting the red pill movement. I see through every president, they all are puppets, ballot machines are owned by the Bush family and operated by the CIA, as I revealed ten years ago, as well as giving the real character of what fake news is= the CIA dominates all establishment news media, right and left, as well as much alternative indie news media. On trump as I exposed a long time ago:

Rothschild, as you should know, owns the national bank of every nation, including the federal reserve. He is the richest and second most powerful man in the world, makes wars, does pure evil.

Trump is Jesuit trained in Fordham university, where he learned Kaballah

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLp3gHR4fvY

Trump tells the group that he is a freemason. Do not listen to the narrator. What led to his admission was the words " under the blood" spoken by a black freemason, which is occult symbolism often employed by Christian freemasons. Trump recognized that signal and responded.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoBeCdSYF1I

Trump was given half a billion dollars by his poppa (he is not self-made as he claims) but nonetheless his foolishness constantly had him begging for loans, and bankers did not want to loan him after he showed time and again inability to repay what he borrowed. Filed for bankruptcy. So why did they finally decide to keep him afloat? He would prove to be valuable in the future. He was groomed for years to be a nice little puppet. Ross, whom he appointed as secretary of commerce, was a Rothschild banker, and had been trained in a Jesuit school, as was TRump (Fordham Univ.), had financed Trump years ago. Trump has various connections to Rothschild.

Here is a damning video on Trump. At 5:12 it gives the names of, and the sums paid for hush money, of the half dozen children he raped. At 8:00 you see Trump with his buddy Klaus, who he says is doing a great job. There is more in this great nine minute summation of how you were fooled.

Very much agree with all you say here .. (although RFK Jr, while strangely hypnotized by a one-sided view of Israel, has solid understanding of why our health is so poor and what to do about it, although what he's able to actually do - still far more than any other administration so far - is a small fraction of what he could do if not for forces beholden to pharma and a false narrative)

Some of Trump's actions have given some validity to some of the most ridiculous-at-the-time sounding warnings of the TDS-fearmongerning media ... (If they hadn't lied about so many things, from "Safe and effective" - which they'll never, ever recover credibility from - , to "34 felonies!", to "puberty blockers are safe and to question that is hateful", etc, maybe they would have been listened to ...

But still, while Trump 2.0 hasn't advanced the prosperity, national security, and civil liberties of the American people, there are a few things that are different, less horrific now, and they're huge enough things that voting for The Bad Man still feel justified ...

. . . but that's more a testament to how beyond-dystopian-sociopathic it was for a government to be a middleman in child trafficking, and to force millions of employees, military service members, students, and in some cases people needing medical care, to be injected with something known all along to have been the most dangerous concoction to inject into humanity at scale, and they tried to get it into the entire world.
