A local guy in Ithaca, NY messaged me on Signal a few days ago asking if I would please attend last night’s meeting of the Ithaca Common Council, which is Ithaca’s municipal governance body.
Tyranny is so banal, isn't it? Good on you, Michael, for your tenacity to get your comment in. And it's been documented. It happened. So important to have that piece of evidence. The mayor is a petit tyrant. He should resign.
Some of those people were listening, and they did hear you.
"Over 1/3 of all females at this bucolic Ivy League university have been effectively raped on campus? Huh?"
This is standard New England College Campus Thinking though. Back in the 1990s 1/4 of all females IN THE USA were raped in their lifetimes. And if you doubted this statistic you were a neanderthal bigot.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul emphasized her gender when asked on October 3 about her appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate a possible rape at a fraternity house at Cornell University in 2024.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul emphasized her gender when asked on October 3 about her appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate a possible rape at a fraternity house at Cornell University in 2024. Hochul is the first woman to serve as New York’s governor. Letitia James, the woman she appointed as special prosecutor, is the state’s first female attorney general. Seeing these two women take on the Cornell case has a special symbolism, Hochul explained. “I’ve heard from a lot of people,” she said. “The image gives them comfort to know that two women perhaps are looking at this differently than men would in the same position.”
She is right. The approach to the law reflected in the New York Democratic officials’ handling of the Cornell case represents a distinctively female perspective. Unfortunately, that perspective is incompatible with the rule of law. ... https://www.compactmag.com/article/the-great-feminization-comes-to-cornell/
You're not a journalist, though. Journalists have editors. Journalists typically have jobs--as journalists. They conduct investigations and interview people. You're a reactionary pundit or commentator. You write junk for Substack. You're no more a journalist than the other Substack "writers" who've commented on this story.
Journalists are people who do journalism (reporting, going places, etc.) *NOT* "people who have editors" or "people who have official 'journalism' jobs who get a W-2". Sorry!

Michael is a roving vortex of turbulent shitstorm.
Glad he was unleashed on Cornell, New York’s municipal government.

Nothing says “evening well spent” like Michael Tracey showing up to discuss gang rape. I’m sure they were fucking thrilled.
