Sorry it took so long, but the process for getting this review published in a “real media outlet” was somewhat… arduous. As you’re likely aware, there’s essentially zero dissension permitted anywhere on this topic, so sensitivities were much higher than usual.
However, it’s finally out, for Unherd. The end-result is considerably more calibrated and qualified than I would’ve done here. So I’m going to post some of the spicier stuff that got cut at the end of this Substack post for subscribers.
One late-breaking development was that the ghost-writer of this new “fictionalized” best-seller, Amy Wallace, unexpectedly engaged me on Twitter/X. I’d been on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” earlier in the week reacting to her interview, although we sadly did not dialogue directly, despite my greatest hopes. (To find my appearance, you have to fast-forward to the end of the Piers Morgan segment.)
Anyway, since my big crazy face was plastered on the thumbnail alongside Amy, I thought I would drop her a line:
No response yet from the publicists.
Please also take a look at another, related article I’ve been working on for awhile, which also just happened to come out today. It’s for Compact Magazine, where I am a contributing editor (although I still don’t quite know what that means).
For several years now I’ve wanted to do a proper “deep dive” on what I’ve now come to call the “Anti-Trafficking Industry.” And it’s even scammier than I would’ve predicted. (This often tends to be the case, in my experience.) Thankfully, the Epstein impetus was the perfect excuse to perform the “deep dive” I had long planned. I think you will enjoy.
Now for some tidbits that did not make it into the Unherd review…
