It is always comforting to come back to being reassured that I am not the only one appalled at this obscene, mind-killing witch-hunt circus.

And it is alright for you blokes to despise British institutions, after all I despise American institutions, from your elected judges to your endless electoral cycles to your guns. But there are people we all can appreciate cross-pond, even in spite of our biases.

I don't particularly "despise" British institutions.

I am glad, but it was very much said in jest.

I do not actually believe that you "despise" some of our institutions with the full weight of the word in the OED; nor do I "despise" some of American institutions in the same way. Both of us do probably find in the other country mores and traditions that are difficult to understand, seem irrational and go against the grain. You and Taibbi talked of the venerable and often obscure procedures of the British Parliament in a very flippant way and as though they were dumb stuff -- that was the tone to my ear, and I replied to it with a light-hearted riposte. They may of course be dumb and anybody is allowed to think so. But I love me my Black Rod, and such things, including the naming rules.

You do an excellent and indispensable job, which very few have the courage and perseverance to do. I do appreciate it so much that I even listen to the podcasts (with the transcript beside because of hearing impairment)... a medium which I abominate for its total lack of clarity. You manage to make it into not a waste of time, which goes to your credit.

it's "jifFRAY". There are Guifrees here in the west and that's how they pronounce it.

Actually, having a u after G is what prevents G being read as J. See "guilt", or "Guise" or "guest" etc.

Just going by the way people pronounce their own names. They often don't know the rules.

It’s the modern day Popish Plot:

“One might have denied Christ with less contest than the Plot … wise men behaved like stark fools".

So, please tell me exactly how many women a man gets to rape or assault before he's disqualified from public office? How much sexual harassment is a woman required to endure in her life?

When audio is selected, the graphic says MTracey Podcast. When I hear the term "podcast", I normally think of an mp3 file that can be loaded onto a device that I can carry with me to listen to it, most notably, an Ipod. I still have a number of them. What I do not have is unlimited phone data.

You should be able to download the audio version through several of the options offered. Example: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/todays-news-4-20-2026-british-pedo-paralysis/id1458410162?i=1000762500849

The old Itunes app on Windows does have a sort of convoluted way to download copies of most podcasts and it did work for yours. Grok just told me about a Windows command line method that works even better. The convenient mp3 download link is a feature of podcasts that is becoming rare. I haven't found any for your podcasts. People must be mostly listening to podcasts on the cloud now.

I like being able to download copies of podcasts and put them in playlists along with songs. My favorite MP3 player is the small 6th generation Ipod nano with the clip. I've accumulated a number of used ones for extras and parts.
